Sacred spaces on campuses
What facilities are available on Australian university campuses to assist people in practising their religion/faith is the subject of a TCMA research project. Patricia Blundell presented a workshop on this at the 2007 conference and the Executive is investigating the best way of making the report she has produced available to TCMA members. Below are links to information about some 'sacred spaces' that have been created in recent years in response to a felt need for people to have access to places that are not linked to one particular religious group but are available to all.

Other useful resources
This is the place for various resources that aren't TCMA publications but are of use to tertiary chaplains eg state organisations that accredit chaplains, multifaith links that aren't chaplaincy specific, articles of interest to chaplains etc. At the moment we have several items
- A Threeway Conversation in Tertiary Chaplaincy by Geoff Boyce
- Guidelines for the appointment of chaplains from the Council for Chaplaincy in Tertiary Institutions (CCTI) - the multifaith organisation that accredits chaplains in Victorian Universities. This site contains some very useful information, including a page on understanding the campus context - a helpful overview of Australian tertiary campuses.
- The Charter for the South Australian Tertiary Chaplaincy Forum a group that advises universities about the appointment of chaplains
- Using Movies with Young People - a document from the Uniting Church in NSW's Youth Unit
- Taking Stock - Revisioning the Church in Higher Education This report was commissioned by the Australian Catholic Bishops' Commission on the Laity, but the author interviewed a wide range of tertiary chaplains. It was published in 1997 and is well and truly out of print but if you follow this link you will find a link that will allow you to download the full text as an .rft document. It's 170 pages long and about 900 KB in size and worth a read if you're interested in the different ways that people do ministry on Australian tertiary campuses.
We are looking for more entries on this page. Email Judy Redman with information about websites that you have found helpful for your ministry, or your own campus website. Please include the URL of the site you are recommending.
