TCMA Privacy Policy
The TCMA collects personal information only where this is relevant to its activities. For example, the TCMA maintains a directory of chaplains in higher education throughout Australia, collects information related to running its annual conferences and for its email list.
Participation in any of these is entirely voluntary.
The TCMA directory is a listing of individuals involved in chaplaincy in higher education throughout Australia. It lists contact details as well as a person's religious and university affiliation. This information is retained in order to enable more effective communication within the community of chaplains. The directory is available only to TCMA members and other individuals listed in the directory. Listing is entirely voluntary. The directory is updated at least on an annual basis and individuals are able to request to have all or some of their details excluded from the listing. Email or postal addresses contained in the directory may from time to time be used to advertise conferences and events that are being organised by or sponsored through the TCMA, or they may be used to send out journals or newsletters that are published by the TCMA. Individuals not wishing to receive these can have their addresses removed from the directory by contacting the secretary of the TCMA in writing, such removal will become effective at the latest by the next formal updating of the directory.
TCMA conferences are organised through a registration process. Any personal information is collected only for the running of the conference. Each conference is conducted as an entity in its own right and private details are not transferred from one conference committee to another.
The TCMA email list is run of the basis of voluntary subscription. The software allows any subscribed member to obtain a list of those people currently subscribed. A member can unsubscribe at any time. Information shared through this list is at the discretion of list members.
The TCMA does not allow third parties to have access to any information that is retained.
